CT3 Foundation in the Community
Chris and Mary have been busy in both their Los Angeles and Virginia Beach communities, partnering with children's hospitals and other organizations that provide support to children and their families. They are excited to continue to grow build their foundation and continue to be inspired by the kids, families, and leaders they meet along the way.
Driving for Hope Los Angeles
The CT3 Foundation hosted its first Driving for Hope at Top Golf El Segundo in January 2023, benefitting Children's Hospital Los Angeles. The sold out event was hosted by George Lopez and featured a special performance by country star Brett Young, opportunities for guests to see if they could outdrive Chris and some of his teammates, and an auction that included special Dodger experiences and sports memorabilia. Chris and Mary were thrilled to welcome many of Chris' Dodger teammates such as Freddie Freeman and Gavin Lux, MLB legend Albert Pujols, LA Kings players, and other celebrities. Special thanks to everyone who participated!
Variety Boys & Girls Club
Chris and Mary have developed a strong partnership with the Variety Boys & Girls Club in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. Over the past few years, the two have visited the Club with the Dodger Foundation to hand out backpacks with school supplies and join in other activities. With the help from a generous donation by the Standard Design Group, the CT3 Foundation will be donating a new garden and meditation area for the club in 2023.
Driving for Hope Virginia Beach
The CT3 Foundation has hosted two Driving For Hope charity tournaments at Topgolf Virginia Beach. The event has raised close to $250,000 for Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters and Roc Solid Foundation: two organizations that do so much for the children and families in the Hampton Roads community.
Other Community Outreach
Chris and Mary routinely work with the Dodger Foundation to visit with children throughout their Los Angeles community. Some of their most recent activities have included:
- Northrup Elementary School - Chris and Mary played with students at an event organized by Playworks, an organization that uses play to help kids develop their physical, social, and emotional health.
- Discovery Cube Science Center - during the off season, Chris and Mary visited the Discovery Cube Science Center in Symlar with 300 L.A. Unified School District students from the Northeast valley. Together with the students, they engaged with different exhibits and learn about health and nutrition, meteorology, sustainability, and more.
- Baby2Baby - With Chris' Dodger teammates, Chris and Mary helped pack backpacks of basic essential items for local youth and families living in poverty.
In the off season, Chris has hosted clinics for little league teams with admission being a donation of play-doh or uno cards for partner charities.
